Quarry Hills Recreation Complex

Quarry Hills Recreation Complex Project - aerial view of City of Quincy landfill looking north, towards downtown Boston. Through an agreement with the City, the Central Artery/Tunnel Project began delivering excavated historic fill and clay from downtown Boston to this site in November 1997. This photo was taken in summer 1998. To date, nearly 9 million tons of CA/T to the Quarry Hills Project. All historic fill is tested for contaminants, before being placed on the landfill (see lower part of photo).
