Summary Statement of Duties:
Under the direction of the Director of Information Systems & Network Operations, the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the local (LAN) and assisting with the wide (WAN) area networks and equipment, including but not limited to installation, upgrading, maintenance, monitoring and support. Researches, recommends, and implements strategies and best practices to improve system security and availability. Oversees administration of troubleshooting log, monitors and analyzes for problem identification and resolution.
Minimum Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree from a four (4) year accredited college required. Network Certifications such Microsoft (MCSA, MCSE) preferred. Additional Certifications such as VMWare (
Experience:
A minimum of five (5) to eight (8) years experience with the support of local and wide area computer network three (3) must have been in a lead technical role.
Must possess extensive knowledge of networking hardware/software, network protocols and peripherals.
Four (4) years of relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's Degree required with a Microsoft (MCSA,MCSE) certification.
Physical:
Must be capable of performing the duties as described in this description.
Must be able to operate a personal computer and peripherals.
Must be able to lift boxes/equipment weighing at least 20 to 40 pounds
Must have the ability to travel throughout Turnpike properties.
Other:
Must demonstrate the ability to articulate effectively in both oral and written form.
Must demonstrate an ability to work under pressure in highly visible work environment.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must be flexible and able to work staggered hours, provide 24/7 on call support and travel to remote sites as required.
